Bright Start for New Law Firm

Commercial law firm Bright LLP has taken new larger premises at the Tamar Science Park in Plymouth to house a surge in staff numbers. The firm, which only began trading on 4 September last year, has trebled the size of its office by moving from Phase 1 to Phase 2 on the Park.

Bright now has a staff of 19, servicing an ever increasing client list, including The Range, who it advises on various matters relating to the Plymouth-based retail company’s expansion throughout the UK. Bright has also attracted work from a number of mortgage firms and estate agents by developing leading-edge software to provide transparency during transactions and minimise legal costs.

Andy Price, director of Bright, explains: “By combining technology with experienced commercial advisers we believe we have developed a more modern approach to the delivery of legal services. Our clients are benefiting from improved speed of response and competitive fees by comparison with what they were used to.”

The firm’s commitment to this fresh approach has led to the appointment of ex Flybe IT consultant Nicola Thomas as IT director, after initially working with them on a part-time consultancy basis. Bright’s challenging of traditional methods also extends to embracing flexible working practices. Andy continued: “We have managed to attract high-calibre lawyers by offering them flexibility in a more relaxed environment in line with other forward thinking businesses. Our rapid growth is proof that this approach works and I thank all our team for their hard work in enabling us to make such a successful start.”
