Bright 2nd Year for Commercial Law Firm

Plymouth based commercial law firm Bright LLP has celebrated its 2nd anniversary The firm, based at the Tamar Science Park in Plymouth, began life with a handful of dedicated staff in 2006 has grown rapidly to a team of over 25 people making it the fastest growing commercial firm in the region.

One of the reasons for the firm’s strong performance is its strategy to continue investing in people during the recent downturn in the economy. This investment has enabled the firm to expand its range of services with the appointments of commercial dispute lawyer Spencer Glazsher, who now heads up the firm’s commercial department, and wills, probate and estate planning specialist Vicky Bligh – both of whom join from leading regional firms.

Over the past 12 months the firm has won a number of new clients which include McCarthy & Stone, Hymec, The Rogers Group and Architects Design Group. Recent work includes advising internet company Rolo Soft Ltd on a licensing agreement.

“Our rapid rate of growth stems from our decision to set up a firm focused on new and expanding companies in the region. As a growing company ourselves, we understand how they operate and are well placed to provide advice more their tune with their needs. With the country now in recession, our commercial department is busy advising clients on how to avoid contractual and employee disputes, maintain cash flow and put in place the correct company structures to compete in tough conditions,” said Andy Price, Managing Director of Bright LLP. He continued, “The whole team at Bright has worked extremely hard to get where we are today. I am very proud of what we have achieved in such a short space of time.”

The firm celebrated its 2nd anniversary with an open house reception for clients and neighbours on the Tamar Science Park.
