On Friday 22nd April, 16 of us set off from Plymouth via Brittany Ferries to Roscoff in France. One team of 9 cyclists (plus Martin Wood with vehicle support) will then cycle on predominantly a cycle trail 100 miles down to Concarneau stopping overnight for a well earned overnight stop. A team of 5 runners will also be attempting this challenge (with support from Shaun Keen of SK Sports Massage).
A massive thanks goes out not only to Martin & Shaun for their support roles but also to both WPS Insurance for their donation as well as to Colin Watts for joining us. Our thanks also to Brittany Ferries for reducing the cost of our travel and to Vospers for affordable minibus and transit van hire.
We have planned a big fund raising evening at Plymouth Argyle F.C. on Friday 1st April where we hope to see 200 guests supporting us. Our thanks to the following for providing great raffle prizes – Roger Young, National Marine Aquarium, Pennywell, Paignton Zoo, Grosvenor Casinos, Duke of Cornwall Hotel, Parkdean, Eden Project & Delta Force.
Brain tumours kill more children and adults under the age of 40 than any other cancer… yet just 1% of the national spend on cancer research has been allocated to this devastating disease.
This is unacceptable!
The Brian Tumour Research charity are striving to fund a network of seven dedicated research centres whilst challenging the government and larger cancer charities to invest more in brain tumour research.
Help them fund the fight. Together we will find a cure.
