Jo Russell Celebrates 15 Years Long Service

Today, we are delighted to celebrate a significant milestone as Jo Russell, Associate and Head of Investment Property, marks 15 years with Bright Solicitors. Jo currently leads our Investment Property department, one of the largest teams within the firm. We spoke to Jo about her 15 years with the business, including noted achievements and what she is most proud of.

“Celebrating 15 years with Bright gives me the opportunity to reflect on just how much has happened during that time.

From joining as a Legal Assistant, to helping establish the Investment Property department and now leading such a talented team, it has been an incredibly rewarding journey.

Bright has supported me through every stage of my career and family life. In fact, when I joined the firm 15 years ago, my eldest child had not even been born yet – although already along for the journey. Looking back, it is remarkable how much has changed since then. The support and flexibility I have been given over the years have enabled me to develop my career whilst raising my family, and ultimately to step into the role of Head of Investment Property following Andy Price’s retirement. It was particularly fitting that this new chapter began at the same time as my youngest child was starting secondary school and embarking on their own next stage of life.

One of the achievements I am most proud of is the people we have helped develop within the department. Seeing colleagues progress, qualify and grow in confidence as legal professionals is incredibly rewarding and something I believe is a success shared by the whole team.

I firmly believe that success is never built by one person alone. It is built through the hard work, support and dedication of those around us. In particular, I would like to thank Ryan Cornelius, Millie Ede and Carys Bookless-Browne, who have been steadfast in their support of me, the team and our shared vision for driving the department forward. Their commitment, encouragement and belief in what we are building together have played a significant part in our success.

I would also like to thank our loyal clients. Without their continued trust and support over the years, there would be no team and no department. We are incredibly grateful for the relationships we have built and for the opportunity to continue supporting them.

Our success has always come down to teamwork, and I am excited to continue building on that success in the years ahead.“

Alongside her leadership responsibilities, Jo remains committed to her own professional development and is currently studying towards her Level 6 Conveyancing Law & Practice qualification with the Council for Licensed Conveyancers.

Looking to the future, Jo is passionate about maintaining the department’s momentum, supporting her team to achieve their goals and ensuring Bright Solicitors continues to provide a specialist service for property investors.
