Insurance

We are required by the SRA to have in place professional indemnity insurance. Our insurance is provided by Probitas 1492 (registered in England number 09670473; Home State - United Kingdom. Authorised by the Prudential Regulation Authority and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority and the Prudential Regulation Authority; registration number 202842). Our insurance is capped at £5,000,000. Accreditations

We are accredited with both the legal practice quality mark “Lexcel” and conveyancing quality scheme accreditation (CQS).

As required by the Solicitors Regulation Authority we have conducted our diversity data collection and reported the required information to the SRA on 30th June 2023.

Partners and staff were not required to respond to the questions asked. 63 responses were received and 4 people chose not to provide the data.

At the time of the data collection, and of the 63 staff who responded to the questionnaire, the data was collected from 3 partners, 6 solicitors, 14 fee earners, 24 assistants, 6 managerial roles, 8 IT/HR other corporate services roles and 1 Chartered Legal Executive.

Complaints

We are committed to providing a quality service to you. If we do get things wrong we’ll make every effort to resolve your issues quickly and efficiently. If you have an issue that you would like to bring to our attention then the first step is to talk to, or write to, the person who is dealing with your matter.

If the person dealing with your matter is not available, if he/she has not been able to resolve the issue satisfactorily or if you would prefer to speak to someone else, please telephone or write to: Julie Milton, Julie.Milton@brightllp.co.uk, or telephone on 01752 388883.

In order that your complaint can be dealt with adequately it will need to be provided in writing (an email is sufficient). Your complaint will be acknowledged within three working days. We aim to provide our initial response to your complaint within 14 days of acknowledgement or to arrange a face-to-face meeting within this time if we feel that this would assist matters and you are happy to. This may not always be possible if it is not an active matter and we are required to retrieve the file from our archive, if this occurs then we will confirm with you.

At each stage we will do our best to investigate your concerns, ensure that any remedial action agreed to be taken is done so as quickly as possible and to keep you informed throughout the process and of any action being taken.

If you are not satisfied with our response you may speak with the Managing Partner of the firm (and COLP), Alex Jeffery.
