In Major £21m Brickfields Development
Plymouth Albion
Bright Solicitors is thrilled to announce its involvement in the highly anticipated Foulston Park development in Devonport.
Acting on behalf of Plymouth Albion RFC, Bright Solicitors' Commercial Property team has been instrumental in progressing this £21 million project, which promises to transform the Brickfields site into a state-of-the-art sporting centre of excellence for the entire Plymouth community.
The Foulston Park development brings together key stakeholders. This includes Plymouth Argyle, Argyle Community Trust, Plymouth City Council, Plymouth Albion RFC, and Devonport Community Leisure Limited (DCLL).
Wider Community
The Foulston Park development is set to be a landmark project for the city and the new home of Plymouth Albion's Brickfields site, providing world-class sporting facilities and promoting community engagement.
The vision is to create an inclusive hub for sports, fitness, and wellbeing. The site will feature extensive new facilities designed to support athletes and the wider community.
The project creates a permanent home for Plymouth Argyle's youth academy, the Argyle Academy, and Plymouth Argyle Women. It will include new grass and all-weather pitches, athletics amenities for the City of Plymouth Athletics Club, public play areas, and enhanced public access.
In the Project
Since February 2023, Bright Solicitors' Commercial Property team has been working diligently on this complex deal. The firm has coordinated with multiple parties to help make the vision for Brickfields a reality.
Our work included assisting Plymouth Albion Rugby Club in protecting its interests and negotiating and completing all documentation in respect of the development. It has been a challenging but highly rewarding deal, which will have a lasting impact on Plymouth's sporting and community landscape.
5 Years in the Making
While the project had many stakeholders and numerous legal representatives, we are proud to be instructed as a local firm involved in a major project benefiting Plymouth and it's community.
Max Venables of Plymouth Albion said:
This project has been five years in the making—an incredibly complex journey involving many different stakeholders.
Throughout it all, Brights have been outstanding, demonstrating exceptional dedication and expertise.
We’re thrilled to have them by our side for such a transformational initiative for the city of Plymouth.
Further Support
In addition to our legal work, Bright Solicitors is excited to deepen its involvement in the project by committing to an ongoing partnership with Plymouth Albion RFC.
As a proud sponsor of the club, our logo will be featured on Plymouth Albion's shirts for the upcoming season, solidifying our support for local sports.
Furthermore, Bright Solicitors is delighted to sponsor a dedicated room at the new Foulston Park Hub, managed by Argyle Community Trust.
The "Bright Suite," overlooking the Plymouth Albion pitch, will serve as a vital space for community sessions, helping to promote wellbeing, inclusion, and physical activity for the people of Plymouth.
For Plymouth
Bright Solicitors is honoured to be part of such a significant project and looks forward to seeing its positive impact unfold.
Construction is set to begin in autumn 2024, with the new facilities set to open in phases as the site is transformed.
